There is the famous Pinellas Trail, a 29-mile recreational pathway. Highly popular with walkers, cyclists and roller-blade enthusiasts, it traverses the county from Downtown St. Petersburg in the south to the Sponge Docks of Tarpon Springs in the north, and passes close by the site.

Clearwater boasts some of the finest and cleanest white sand beaches in the country (and are regularly voted some of the best in the world), with many avenues of entertainment from fishing to scuba diving, walks on the beach, fine restaurants and nightly entertainment on the Pier. Clearwater Beach is also home to this coast's finest and largest sport-fishing fleet.
